BOOSTERS AS INTERACTIONAL METADISCOURSE MARKERS: A CORPUSDRIVEN COMPARATIVE STUDY

This paper examined and compared two corpora in terms of boosters, a category interactional metadiscourse markers. Boosters strengtens the writers' existence, position, argument, claims, commitment into texts. One hundred articles are composed corpora; 50 from non-native researchers’ papers (Turkish writers), native papers. Two were under 4 types boosters: modals (type 1), adjectives adverbs 2), verbs: introductory verbs cognitve 3), Solidarity features/clusters 4). In upshot this research, it is seen that writers overuse modal auxilarities as but underused adjectives-adverbs features/clusters. The groups have similar ratios, slightly favour writers. Besides, group seem to avoid overusing boosters their texts most probably literature suggests intentionally reduce risk readers’ opposition not personal responsibility for arguments.
